The Complimentary 60-Day Trial AKC Pet Healthcare Plan
Dogs who have been registered with the AKC are eligible for the Complimentary 60-Day Trial AKC Healthcare Plan. The plan is available up to 28 days after AKC registration.
You can activate your plan by Internet, phone or mail. Once activated, your trial plan is effective on your puppy's registration date and includes the following coverage:
- The Complimentary Plan includes a one-time $100 deductible, coverage up to $500 per incident, with a total coverage limit of $1500
- Accident and injury coverage from Day 1 to Day 60
- Illness coverage from Day 31 to Day 60
- Veterinary treatment, diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests for covered services
- Medications prescribed for covered injuries and illnesses
- The 60 Day Trial Plan does not cover foreign body ingestion
The complimentary plan includes a one time (per term) $100 deductible, allows up to $500 per incident, with a limit of $1,500.
At the end of the complimentary trial period, you can continue by choosing one of the affordable and comprehensive plans designed to provide excellent care for your dog.
If you choose both the complimentary Plan and an annual plan, you can enjoy continuous coverage with no waiting period. This means that the usual 30-day waiting period on illness under the annual plan will be waived. With no gap in coverage, you can enjoy the enhanced benefits that your new annual plan offers from the day it starts.
